Jefferson Seminar: “Frontier Louisiana: The Culture and Traditions of Northwest Louisiana”

Presenters:

Miss Anne Bowie: “Burke, Calhoun, and the American Founding: The Metaphysical Existence of Society Before Government.” Miss Burke has a B.A. from the University of Virginia and an M.A. from the University of Notre Dame. She teaches at a private school.

Mr. Roger Busbice: “Leonidas Polk: Bishop, General, Scholar.” Mr. Busbice has a B.A. and an M.A. from Louisiana Tech and did graduate work at Nicholls State University and LSU.

Dr. David Middleton: “Reading and Musings of a Southern Poet from Northwest Louisiana.” Dr. Middleton was a Professor of English for thirty-three years at Nicholls State University. He as published six major collections of poem, including his newest work, Fiddler of Driskill Hill: Poems, published by LSU Press.
