The South Hating Business

The defeat of liberal Democrat Mary Landrieu removed the Deep South’s last Democratic U.S. Senator. It is interesting to see the reaction of Yankee liberals (pardon the redundancy) as they complain about the “racist white South” abandoning the Democratic Party. Now don’t get me wrong—I am no lover of Lincoln’s Republican Party but it is amusing to watch the libs complain about their loss of the Deep South.

Michael Tomasky, a liberal contributor at the Daily Beast, described Louisiana as “the reactionary, prejudice-infested place.” He noted that anti-Landrieu voters in reactionary Louisiana were like “a vet who takes pleasure in gassing (a toothless dog).” Now Michael, I have lived in the South all my life and have found it necessary occasionally to put an unfortunate animal out of its misery. So being compared to a vet doing his job is not really an insult but comparing Mary to a “toothless dog” well that is beyond the pale of civility!

Michael’s tirade did have something of merit to it. He declared that the South is lost to the Democrats, “It is gone. A different country. And maybe someday it really should be…which is what Southerners always say they want anyway.” Well at least on this small part of his South hating tirade I can completely agree with him and add “The sooner the better!”

Bill Clinton’s old buddy Robert Reich posted a scathing Facebook post in which he denounced racist Southerners thusly: “…the sad fact is southern white politics has been dominated by hidebound racists seeking to suppress the votes of African-Americans.” The truth is that it was Mary and her liberal allies like Robert Reich, Obama, and the Clintons who suppressed the votes—her votes! They have made a political career out of slandering the good people of the South and now their chickens are coming home to roost!

The major take away from this election is that “those people” hate us; they have always hated us; their Federal Empire was created by those who used bloody bayonets to destroy our right to be left alone and live in a country based upon the consent of the governed. They and their cronies are now America’s ruling elite—both Republican and Democrat—who enjoy the perks, privileges and power of those who control the Federal Empire. This Federal empire stands with its foot upon the neck, i.e., the liberty and freedom, of its subjects—a people who are considered too small to count (while the Empire’s cronies are too big to fail). Let us all remember that those who hate us have placed us in their political cage—a cage they control and from which we are not allowed to leave. If you cannot leave, then you are not free!
