The Radical Republican communist party was organized in Alabama in 1867. The communists swept the Alabama elections…no former Confederates were elected into office. In 1880, Radical Republican Reconstruction ended in Alabama and in the first session of returning to power, the former Confederates funded Tuskegee Institute.
